Certified Proofreader Overview

I am a graduate of Proofread Anywhere's General Proofreading: Theory & Practice. At present I'm also taking the Transcript course. My experience as a Literature teacher must have prepared me for this type of work. Because most of the tests and exams I gave were essays, and because I also taught Creative Writing, I was not only checking for content--I was very finicky about grammar as well.

I am also an artist and I find that balancing my time between proofreading and making art works very well for me. The written word has always been a huge part of who I am. Often, what I read influences the art I make. My favorite authors are those who use imagery with just the right words. Neil Gaiman, Cornelia Funke, Stephen King, and John Steinbeck are right on top of my list.
