Certified Proofreader Overview

I am very excited to work for you! The past year, I have brushed up on my grammar via online training and relished every minute. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business but have always favored grammar, and I have gained thirty years of experience editing and proofreading in my business career. I am more than prepared to edit and proofread literature—my first love—using the following tools: Microsoft Word, Word Macros, PerfectIt, Chicago Manual of Style, Merriam-Webster unabridged, and several other resources. The author's style guide takes precedence. I am a Proofread Anywhere Graduate. I have finished training for copyediting through the Editorial Freelancers Association (EfA) and attended several creative writing classes. On top of copyediting and proofreading experiences with a few authors this past year, I am writing my first fictional book, and I hope to publish it in 2024. I have enjoyed volunteering my proofreading skills at Project Gutenberg, and I am also a member of the EfA, American Copy Editors Society, Freelancers Union, and Romance Writers of America.
