Certified Proofreader Overview

I am a retired litigation attorney with years of experience in both the state and federal judicial systems. Early on, I was honored with a scholarship in law school based on my legal writing and oral advocacy skills. As a trial attorney, drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents was a regular occurrence for me and remains one that I enjoy. I am a lifelong avid reader of wide and varied content, including, news articles, books, essays, business, and legal documents. Even recreationally, it has become impossible for me not to edit and proof a written piece, albeit in my mind. Alas, the path to copyediting and proofreading was a natural one, culminating in certificates in both general and transcript proofreading along a freelance journey.
