Certified Proofreader Overview

For a long time, I have been known as a typo spotter and grammar nerd. I received certification in General Proofreading: Theory and Practice from ProofreadAnywhere in August 2023, and now I'm even better at both. I look forward to finding all your tricky typos, messy misspellings, punctuation problems, grammar goofs, and formatting foibles.

I have proofread over 300,000 words in novels and short stories for four authors to date, even offering mild editing suggestions where needed, such as breaking a paragraph or joining two paragraphs. All edits were done in MS Word showing Track Changes. Authors always have the option to keep original wording or accept those changes.

I have a Bachelor's in History (minor in Creative Writing) and Master's in Museum Studies. I even taught English in the Czech Republic. All the while I was writing. And being a perfectionist when it comes to my writing, I want nothing to mar my stories. I have been known to fix a typo decades after I'd finished a story. Now I don't wait that long.

I would bring that same perfectionism to your writing, be it a novel, a short story, a resume, a blog post, and just about anything that contains words. I'm even studying to be a Transcript Proofreader as well, so I hope to add that to my offerings in the future.
