Hi, I’m Alyssa, a Christian proofreader, copy editor, writer, and English tutor (including ESL), passionately serving women. Whichever service(s) you may need, my aim is to help you communicate clearly, beautifully, and effectively, and enjoy it!

As a proofreader and copy editor, I will gently undo the literary tangles so you don't have to worry about wily word, grammar, punctuation, formatting, or spelling issues and can rest assured your writing looks great. I want to produce the best product and experience possible for you, so I will establish your goals up front and maintain clear communication throughout to ensure I meet them.

If you need help with English as a foreign language speaker, no worries! Being a language learner myself (Spanish and Arabic) and learning about linguistics has enabled me to recognize and resolve common mistakes.

I have experience using Microsoft Word, Google Docs, APA, MLA, CMOS, and the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, but I welcome the opportunity to work with other word processors and style guides to meet your needs.

When I was a young teen, I had the privilege of teaching writing, grammar, and spelling to my siblings in our homeschool while simultaneously learning alongside them. Administering lessons and grading papers really cemented what I was taught, and in combination with my God-given skills, made English easier for me. It was there that my love of helping others with English began.

In June of 2023, I earned my General Proofreading certificate from Proofread Anywhere. One month later, I finished my first professional proofreading project. Since then, I’ve been continuing my education, working on my B.S. in English, Writing, and Business at Liberty University and pursuing ESL certification and courses. I have also been growing my communication and managerial experience, serving three years as the Service Team Administrator for the AFHE Homeschool Convention and coordinating a Juilliard-trained pianist’s concert. On the side I’ve been volunteer proofreading, editing, consulting, and resume writing.

After visiting Egypt in 2024 and interacting with other foreign language speakers here in the U.S., I was inspired to take on English Second Language (ESL) tutoring as well. It's so amazing and fulfilling to see my students progress and enjoy English!
